Feast of Our Lady of Vitaleta. A religious festival in the heart of San Quirico

The first weekend of September San Quirico celebrates Our Lady of Vitaleta. A folk festival that blends religion and tradition.

Alongside the religious celebrations, performances in the square, solemn Mass, the traditional Philharmonic concert, and the closing of the festivities with fireworks.

Our Lady of Vitaleta was solemnly crowned on September 15, 1920, and has been celebrated every ten years since then with a solemn feast, the Festoon, which lasts about a week.

The Church of St. Francis, commonly called “of Our Lady,” was built on the remains of the St. Francis Convent; the new sanctuary was built between 1867 and 1870.
